Never Lasts
A downloadable game
Hi everyone,
In the end, this project turned out to be more of a prototype—a game that uses your own decisions to control what happens to the characters.
I call it a prototype because each character currently has only five options, and I would have loved to implement:
-
Character selection so players could feel a closer connection with each of the three characters.
-
Unique choice sets for each character, giving them their own decision trees.
-
A day-counter transition: after pressing “Next,” the game would play an animation, fade to black, display “Day X,” and increment the day.
-
Music—a small but important detail I couldn’t fit in on time.
These are just a few of the many features that would make the game more interesting. Still, my focus for this jam was to move from prototype to a playable result—and to dive into Photoshop for the first time in years. I spent a lot of time tweaking visuals so everything looked right, and I think (in my humble opinion) it came out as well as four hours of practice could allow!
I hope you enjoy it, and I’d love to hear your feedback.
Note:
The WebGL build wouldn’t launch, so I had to switch to a downloadable version instead.
